Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford states the racial abuse he got online after the 0-0 draw at Toolbox was “mankind and social networks at its worst”.
The 23-year-old England global stated he declined to take screenshots of the several messages he got as it would be “careless” to do so.
” Humankind and social networks at its worst. Yes I’m a Black male and I live every day proud that I am. Nobody, or nobody remark, is going to make me feel any various,” Rashford composed on Twitter late on Saturday.
” So sorry if you were trying to find a strong response, you’re just merely not going to get it here.
” I’m not sharing screenshots. It would be careless to do so … There’s absolutely nothing initial in them. I have gorgeous kids of all colours following me and they do not require to read it. Gorgeous colours that ought to just be commemorated.”
The Football Association (FA) previously condemned the racial abuse of gamers after United duo Axel Tuanzebe and Anthony Martial, West Bromwich Albion’s Romaine Sawyers, and Chelsea’s Reece James were targeted recently.
” We are unified with all of football in our abhorrence of any racist abuse. This is not appropriate in any part of society,” the FA stated in a declaration on Saturday.
” We will continue to deal with the remainder of the video game, the federal government, and social networks platforms to eliminate this– and all aspects of– discrimination from our sport.”
Cops on Friday stated they apprehended a 49-year-old male associating with the abuse of Sawyers.
